Yes, it is a useful invention and nowadays no one can live without it - who said this I actually don’t know but said exactly.
I’m talking about Cell Phone.
Everywhere you go, in the buses, trains, hospitals, banks, public offices, even in the funeral you’ll hear irritating cell phone ring suddenly destroying serenity. You’ll find cell phone glued guys to their ears everywhere invading your privacy. Even if you go in any remote village of India, hardly there is a primary school, but surely you’ll find cell phone users.
A study by the UN shows that half of population of India has cell phone, at least a SIM card, even the beggars have it than toilet. This is irony but true. This is the culture nowadays grows in India. This is the greatest developments of technology in our country.
We Indians don’t know what’s personal and what’s private. We talk so loudly, no matter what, even offensive, in the public places creating nuisance forced to others overhear. We are proud of it for sharing our conversation with everyone around us.
Manners! Ha, most mannered person, you’ll find, when his cell phone rang he then throws his manners answers in the public surroundings. I had an experience, one of the top officials from a Marketing House, while addressing a press conference launching new products stopped, while his cell phone rang and he answered his phone but he was full of manners of other things.
I also remember, a school dropout kid hardly 12-13, helps his father running a tea shop in a Govt office premises, owner of a cell phone proudly answered that he uses his cell phone for listening music seeing pictures and taking photos like pressman.
Parents are also encouraging their kids with this device. Cell Phone, I guess, 75% students, are not using for communication but for always tapping out of text messages, listening of music, watching of photos or videos and taking of photos of others without consent. Parents are not aware that these are spoiling their kid’s career.
These are some side effects of development of mobile technology in our country.
But you agree, these devices are most essential in every aspect of our life. Now time has come to follow a minimum etiquette and manner when we use our cell phone in public surroundings.
